VMS Pigment No. 20 Light Fresh Rust is the brightest of the iron oxide pigments, designed to create high-contrast, fresh rust effects. If the standard fresh rust color feels too dark, this pigment provides a lighter alternative that still delivers vibrant, realistic results. However, due to its intensity, use this pigment with caution—it is best applied through dry-brushing for controlled, subtle applications.

This pigment is ideal for highlighting and enhancing fresh rust effects on mufflers, tracks, hulls, OVM, and more. When applied alone, it works excellently on steel acrylic bases (like mufflers) or any hull base coats to replicate rusted dents and scratches in the paint. It can also be combined with darker shades for added depth and variation.
