After meeting an ill-equipped Russian Army in 1941, the Wehrmacht was startled to find the Soviet Union had developed a modern tank in complete secrecy. The T-34 with its sloped armor, torsion-bar suspension, and 85 mm cannon, was superior to any German tank in production at the time. This boxing of Border's T-34/85 represents a late production vehicle from Plant 112 with the composite turret.
