The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a versatile aircraft designed to provide close air support to ground troops and direct other aircraft in ground attacks. Although originally intended to be replaced by the F-35, the USAF is facing push back on retiring the A-10 and is upgrading remaining aircraft to the A-10C configuration for continued use.
